Payouts
Payouts are processed on a weekly basis (every Tuesday) for balances over $50 USD. If your balance is under $50, it rolls over to the next week. Payouts are sent via PayPal or bank transfer (ACH/wire) depending on your country. Allow 3–5 business days for funds to arrive.
Lemon Squeezy charges 5% + $0.50 per transaction on the Free plan. The Plus plan ($29/month) reduces this to 2% + $0.50 per transaction, which pays off at around $1,500/month in sales. There are no other hidden fees — payment processing, fraud protection, and global tax handling are all included.
Tax Handling
Yes — this is one of Lemon Squeezy's core features. As a Merchant of Record, they collect, report, and remit all sales tax, VAT, and GST on your behalf across 100+ countries. You don't need to register for VAT in the EU, UK, or elsewhere. Tax compliance is fully handled.
No. Because Lemon Squeezy acts as the Merchant of Record, they issue all customer invoices and receipts. Customers can download VAT-compliant invoices from their email receipt. You do not need to set up your own invoicing system.
Store Setup
In your Lemon Squeezy dashboard, go to Store > Products and click 'New Product'. Choose between a Digital Product, Software License, or Subscription. Set the name, price, description, and cover image. For software, you can configure license key delivery. Publish when ready — your product gets a checkout link immediately.
Yes. Go to Settings > Store and add your custom domain (e.g., store.yourdomain.com). Add a CNAME record pointing to Lemon Squeezy's servers. SSL is provisioned automatically. Your store and checkout pages will appear on your domain within minutes.
Subscriptions
Create a subscription product with your chosen billing interval (monthly, yearly, or custom). Customers are billed automatically on renewal. You can offer free trials, setup fees, and usage-based billing. The customer portal (hosted by Lemon Squeezy) lets subscribers manage their plan, update payment info, and cancel.
Refunds
Go to Store > Orders, find the order, and click 'Refund'. You can refund the full amount or a partial amount. Refunds are processed within 5–10 business days depending on the customer's bank. The transaction fee is not refunded to you, but Lemon Squeezy's platform fee is waived for refunded orders.
