Notion
VerifiedAll-in-one workspace for notes, docs, and projects
Getting Started
Click the '+ New page' button in your sidebar or press Cmd/Ctrl + N. You can start from a blank page, pick a template, or import content from another tool. Once created, your page is saved automatically — there's no save button in Notion.
Notion has limited offline support. On desktop, pages you've recently visited are cached and readable offline, but editing requires an internet connection. Mobile apps have similar caching. Full offline editing is not currently supported.
Databases
In Notion, a database is a powerful content type that stores pages with structured properties. A table is just one of six views for a database (others include Board, Calendar, List, Gallery, and Timeline). Every database entry is a full Notion page you can open and add content to.
Open your database and click the 'Filter' or 'Sort' buttons in the top-right toolbar. Filters let you show only entries matching criteria (e.g., Status = 'In Progress'). Sorts order entries by a property (e.g., Due Date, ascending). Both filters and sorts are per-view and saved automatically.
Sharing & Collaboration
Click 'Share' in the top-right of any page. Toggle 'Share to web' to create a public link anyone can view. To invite specific people, enter their email — they'll get a Notion account if they don't have one. You can set permissions to 'Can view', 'Can comment', or 'Can edit'.
Yes. Notion supports real-time multiplayer editing. You'll see collaborators' avatars and colored cursors as they type. Changes sync live. For very large pages, there may be a slight delay, but conflicts are handled automatically.
AI Features
Notion AI can draft content, summarize long pages, translate text, fix grammar, brainstorm ideas, extract action items from meeting notes, and fill database properties automatically. Access it by typing '/AI' on any page or clicking the AI sparkle icon. It's included in the AI add-on (not the base plan).
Notion AI is an add-on that costs $8/member/month (billed annually) or $10/month billed monthly, on top of any Notion plan. Free plan users can try a limited number of AI responses before being asked to upgrade.
